    :bang:Hello,

I am a cped who works with athletes exclusively. I have a patient with webbing between 2/3. He is a marathoner, veteran of 9 marathons. He complains of pain below this interspace on the plantar side of his foot. He has been scanned...mri etc. Nothing. (I have not yet seen the scans). Was given a cortisone shot before coming to see me to obtain orthotics. He cannot get beyond 6 miles without pain.

I have tried the typical methods of off loading the area. I am wondering if the webbing of his feet sets him up for an unusually narrowed interspace which then sets him up for a neuroma (given his level of running and pronation). Does anyone have experience with such feet in the athlete?

I have created orthotics for him>>>off weight bearing casted functional variety. First run went well. Still felt some tingling so we added the met pad>>>just fired up the site of his injection. Maybe more time is needed? (btwy: the injection was not a good move because his complaints are greater now than previous)

I am also in need of any advice from a practitioner who works with endurance runners about what I might try to get him past a 10K. He is training for #10.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi again Shelley,

    To copy & paste:

Highlight required text using left mouse button from bottom of text. Keep button depressed, when you have highlighted it right click mouse & select copy.

Select 'forums' on top page bar. Start new thread in required forum.

Left click on text box, right click mouse & select paste.

There is likely a quicker way but hey I'm 42 so my learning curve is flat.
