Rehab patient visit not to be billed to Medicare

Question???

I recently saw a patient in the hospital, treated him and he was d/c to a Rehab unit. He has medicare and a private insurance. The facility transported him to my office andtold me to not bill his Medicare for payable services while he was in the rehab unit but I should bill the Rehab facility and they will and subsequently did pay for x-rays etc in my office.

Comments?? Is this proper?[/I][/U] They say that they get a fee to cover the patient for "everything" while he is at the facility.
