Just wondering if anybody has had experience with either of these dopplers? I am looking to upgrade my current Hadeco doppler and was wondering in particular the 30EX and the in-built cuff inflator. Is this very reliable and accurate in measuring ABI's?

    Hi Tim,

I've had both. I found that the in-built cuff inflator on the 30EX over inflated every now and then. In that case, you can manually control when it inflates, when it stops inflating and when it deflates (the machine still inflates the cuff).

I like them both. But I'm not a fan of the Smart-V-Link software. Not sure if I got a dodgey version or if its just not glitch-free yet, but I had a few problems with it.

    Thanks Asher

Other than the self inflating cuff would there be much benefit in going with the 30EX or would you suggest the smartdop 45. I always find when trying to do an ABi that I have a thousand cords or leads everywhere.

    Tim,

The 45 is hand held and comes with a bag for easy transport, the 30EX sits on a bench - could be relevant if you work outside your practice also.

I haven't used the 30 EX for a while but I remember thinking that they were very similar when I changed over. Both can use the PPG.

So the size / portability and the self-inflating cuff are the differences.
