    Hi all

For any who have ever read my more obscure postings on the lingering affects of physical trauma induced gait changes and how to alter them back may be interested in a new book by Dr. Phil Mollon: Psychoanalytic Energy Psychotherapy

Phil works predominantly in psychoanalysis in the NHS (UK) and has written extensively on more traditional aspects of psychotherapy. His latest work (just in print) provides a blend of academic reflection and clinical working experience around the area of energy psychotherapy/psychoanalysis.

I offer this for what its worth.

Whilst I use this approach for pts outside of the podiatry context I have used it in biomechanical settings - post ankle fracture injury in footballers and post leg break injury in pts.

    Cheers

But if it works for you...

    Hi Robert

    Yep, predictable :D

To be fair to Phil Mollon, as I do not think that the snippets of what might seem the more esoteric of his approaches (albeit from his own website) is fair to him, the more conventional psychoanalytical material he has written is highly respectable in his field and clearly fall within the more conventional and traditional aspects of psychoanalysis and addressing peoples concern with mental health.

What is interesting is that there is an approach to resolution of psychological/emotional/somatic issues in peoples lives that appears to work consistently (certainly been my own experience in treating people with it) that seems to fall within that boundary between the above three aspects. Successful and successive use of the approach has required someone from a hardwired academic and sceptical background to attempt to evaluate how, what or why. The book is an attempt to do this as the need to do has grown both from an academic and daily involvement in pts health issues context.

As you say, certainly it works for me and for others. Which is absolutely fine.

    Cheers
    Ian
