Hi, wondered if there are any dom pods out there and how they cope with the missed appointments. Unfortunately, most of my clients are elderly so dont have mobile phones as texting them would be easiest just as a reminder.
I have had at least 5 clients in the last month who had forgotten to transfer details to new diary, one whose cruise had been delayed, 2 gone into hospital suddenly, one just forgot and of course the excusable death.!
I have never enforced terms or conditions but some of my clients are in the surrounding villages, taking 10/15 minutes travel, diesel plus lost appointment.
None of them have offered to pay for the inconvenience, even the cruise client said, oh well we ended up with a later flight so it wasn't my fault.
Any advice? Should i start handing out terms and conditions, cancellation fees etc? or accept that this is part of the game?

Also, can I have some views on being referred by friends, family as this seems to be an increasing problem. They either seem to want fees reduced and I get the impression that they don't quite treat you with the same respect? Maybe it is me..am I being too soft?
    Thanks...
