    Hi:
    I'll assume you are talking about the Base of the 5th Metatarsal.
    Pain that you are describing can be caused by a fracture, stress fracture, acute periostitis, acute tendinitis of the Peroneus brevis and or longus, or a tear in the tendon itself.
    If plain films have been negative and the pain has continued I would suggest an MRI.

    It is always "nice" to have a diagnosis BEFORE a treatment plan.
