In the USA there exists the Council on Podiatric Medical Education (CPME). It serves to evaluate and accredit the podiatry programs offered throughout the USA. Is there a similar national agency or council in the UK that accredits the podiatry programs offered at the various universities there?

    Thanks in advance.

  2. I'm a bit out of the loop these days but when I was Head of School at the University of Plymouth 8 years ago, quality assurance was maintained via the Quality Assurance Agency, the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists; the NHS confederations and the University itself- which meant four different agencies all looking to audit you, usually at the same time, and all looking for evidence in a different way. Oh joy. I only hope someone can tell me it's a little more streamlined these days because back then it was a nightmare, and all you did was create audit reports, in different ways, for different organisations... and then we tried to make sure teaching wasn't interrupted- t'was a joke.

Thanks for the reply. Any suggestions as to where one could go to find out for a fact how this is accomplished on a national basis present day?
