    Hi Guys,
Just been pricing up the Pod Cruise (cruise including CPD) - the website has quotes saying it's tax deductible. Just emailed my accountant and she says that only a proportion of it would be deductible - only the CPD part.

Anybody have any insight - I've done all my previous CPD through paid employers or since I've been in PP I've done it all online. Any help much appreciated!!

    Regards!

    Hi Princess,

I believed was 100% deductable due to hours of CPD each day.

My friend went on the recent one & her accountant said 100% yes but to be on the safe side contact your local tax office.

Those lovely ppl at the revenue oriface are very helpful :empathy:

Only kidding, but do give them a ring theyre the best ones to give you the most accurate answer.

(I think thats their web addy)

    All the best,

    Thanks Twirly,
My accountant told me that I could only claim for what the courses would cost to do here - but I'm going to rebel and phone the tax office anyway!!

    Regards

    Hi,

I have been on a couple of Pod cruises and think they were absolutely worth the money. Holiday and cpd in one.

At the time I was thinking about doing a couple of courses, and when i added up the cost of the course, plus travel plus hotel, plus meals etc, it was actually cheaper going on the cruise (at that particular time) circa 2005!.

Now I think there are more online courses etc and it neednt cost the earth. But I value the experiences I had and they were also brilliant for networking. I made some brilliant contacts and friends that I still am in touch with on a regular basis. So I think its definately worth considering. Oh and BTW my accountant said I could put through most of the cost, because of the anpount of cpd you do....

    good luck.
