Why do yoga poses involving full plantarflexion of ankle result in cramping of flexor hallucis longus.quite a few patients suffer this even though they are well Hyde rated and warmed up!! Any thoughts on reasonable response for yoga instructor.
    I am unsure !
    Thanks in advance
    First time using arena!!

Welcome Patricia, great to have you join us! Great question! I must admit that I used to cramp very badly, very often when playing sport! Didn't know why back then! Without enough water consumption, I make it to the couch after work & cramp within minutes!! Even had to leave work one day! Hard to hold instruments and use a scalpel when you hands and arms a cramping!
Try posting in the general forum, more people read that? :) I do not have an answer for you and I look forward to other responses!

Thanks for responding.i guess it must be linked to compression of nerve when ankle at end range plantarflexion!
