    Hi RSS FeedBot,

It's hard to tell without looking at your toenail. I would expect it to be healing well by now. If you are diabetic it may take a little longer to heal. When i had both sides removed on the same toe - within the first two/three weeks I wore a loose or open shoe and its was healing and the pain subsided. I thought great and started putting the wrong shoe back on and using a cheap bandaid - then the healing process went backward. Clean with saline and use a sterile dressing. If it is red use a little antispetic as well. [I would skip the betadine now as it can be a vasoconstrictor. Use an alternative antiseptic and not too much as the wound will get too moist). Also let it get some air during the day whilst sitting and relaxing. Keep a light dressing on when going out and at bedtime so you don't aggrevate it. Wear loose/open toe footwear. Return to see your podiatrist. If not satisfied get a second opinion.

Gilly, no disrespect intended however I feel that your reply should be directed to the foot health forum (follow the link from first post ;) ) as I'm sure Feedbot's toes are fine . Cheers,
    Paul.

Thanks Paul, I'll check that out. Have only just started navigating around podiatry arena over last week, even though I officially registered in 2007!! (Is Feedbot a member of the general public requesting info? is that what the foot health forum is?) Regards Gilly

Rss Feedbot is part of the operating system on podiatry arena and loves to keep his true identity a secret :D. The purpose of this thread as layed out here is a relaying of a feed from another forum where the general public can express their concerns. For a sneek peek click on the More link from RSS Feedbot :)
    Cheers, Paul.
