The Indigenous Diabetic Foot [IDF] Program is part of SARRAH (Services for Australian Rural and Remote Allied Health ) and the web page is at:

    http://www.sarrah.org.au/idf/

This contains reference to some excellent foot health resources and programs run by SARRAH.

    Excellent work

    What say you?

Just attended the Indigenous Diabetic Foot [IDF] Program <http://www.sarrah.org.au/idf/Default.asp#workshops> (part of SARRAH (Services for Australian Rural and Remote Allied Health ). A rewarding experience and refreshing approach to foot assessment .

    Highly recommended.

Went to an aboriginal senior citizens' open day this week to promote our chronic disease managment program (WA) and was placed in the next table to a nursing colleague from Derbarl Yerrigan (Aboriginal Health Centres). Was delighted to see he was using the DART chart (preliminary neuro -screening) . No shortage of customers either.

They plan to take up the IDF "wash and feel the feet" exercise at the next promotion.

Brilliant way to get people interested in foot inspection .

    Well done Jason.

I used the flip chart work book with a few patients and had great success too!!! It is such a simple and effective tool to use. The SARRAH IDF course is worth while, definately!
