    Just to note: when I was measuring talar neck angles from ever-so-carefully referenced photograph, dealt with in all manner known to Man to avoid paralax etc, we could note the accuracy down to better than about 2-3 degrees. I think the answer lies in asking the question in biology, rahter than in statisitics.
