There is a web board for PF sufferers that I contribute to where we try and maintain a standard of objective and ethical advice. The board was created by a PF sufferer and contains a fairly comprehensive library of material for the public related to the topic and advice for treatment.

It is moderated by Dr. David Wander and Jeremy Long is our resident shoe guru and all around orthoses expert. We have had posters drop in and try to sell their ware and they typically find the climate less than friendly when they try to sell snake oil :boxing:

Today I found this posted on the board:

    to which I replied:

I would like to extend an invitation to any of you who would care to (or have the time or inclination) contribute should Rothbart continue to try and self-promote his bizarre ideations on that web board.

  4. I was going to say same ole same ole but this is new. Chronic pain appears to be a condition he has invented loosely based on chronic pain syndrome.

No fair. I want to invent a syndrome which explains everything.

Right. I hereby declare that PF is in fact a symptom of hebejebelaaaartonapang syndrome. Treat the hebejebelaaaartonapang (with a herbal suppliment Camellia sinensis, available only from me) and you will cure the problem.

I find it funny when people make claims to be treating the cause rather then the symptoms when their is no evidence or logical mechanism that it is the case. Reminds me of chiropractors who think the cause of all peoples illness is subluxations in the spine. Haven't they heard of bacteria?

Not sure how loading the 1st MPj during gait is going to help with so many different things unless it is a placebo. However I can understand how that could give you some extra problems. Dr. Rothbart seems to have an inadequate understanding of the mechanism of functional hallux limitus in his defence on his website of his orthotics and claims that they cause hallux limitus.

  7. What i have come to realise is that poverty is not a primary pathology but a symptom of hebejebelaaaartonapang syndrome. Treat the root cause and the financial situation will improve.

  8. Thats a very negative attitute steve. Whlst it could just be that you dislike it when people do this, I suspect the root cause is an imbalance in your chi making you cranky. Perhaps you should see a chen balancer...

I can't find a definition of that word in google or any dictionary or thesuarus.

    HAVE YOU MADE THIS UP!!??

Yout just tryin to fool us arn't you for sure, aren't eh! gowon eh! gowon gowon gown ye are aren't you you little bgggr eh you are eh?

    Are you?

Confused of Kent and County Wiclo

  10. Made it up? No. I was deeply unhappy with the available treatments for excessive nasal hair, all of which seemed to treat the symptoms rather than the cause. After years of arduous research I discovered hebejebelaaaartonapang syndrome.

You won't find it in any dictionary because this is an entirely NEW and revolutionary paradigm. To quote someone who's name escapes me

    Read about it on
    www.foreverfreefromhebejebelaaaartonapang.com
    www.hebejebelaaaartonapangruinedruinedmylife.com
    www.coiningitinfromhebejebelaaaartonapang .com

Google don't have details of hebejebelaaaartonapang syndrome because of the ruling elite who cannot bring themselves to embrace the exciting new paradigm. Its a conspiracy i tell you!

  13. Sorry Dave. A link won't do. This is solid gold and should be opened out to as wide an audience as possible even those who don't follow links

In context this is a report of a UK conference where A Mr Catto was selling, sorry, slip of the tongue, educating, about the wonders of posture control orthotics.

The frightening thing is i've spoken to degree trained, savvy, otherwise intelligent pods who have done this "training" and actually buy into this tosh :bang::bang:

I give you Dave Smith at his best.

"Science" gets a bad rep sometimes in this post pre post modernist world. But to protect us against things like this i embrace it warts and all!

Someone needs to write a book on all the dramas from this and other sites on proprioceptive insoles. It would make a very interesting case study.
