Here in Adelaide we have had what feels like a nasty cold, cold winter. I am seeing an increasing number of chilblaines, which are painful. We know the best way to treat them is to avoid them however, suggestions to ease the discomfort are difficult to find. When I was a student, Lasonil and Hirudoid were suggested as enzymatic topical products to help dissolve bruising. People are reluctant to pay the price for these applications. I have suggested trying methyl salicylate cream, or camphor menthol or just providing some mild massage. Does anyone have any successful experience with home cures or over the counter products?
