    Hi all,
I have been milling poly orthoses for some time now, but recently have tried to do some EVA styles. I am having issues with the poly endmill not clearing the waste product enough and basically resulting in an unclean product. If anyone is regularly cutting EVA, could you please advise me on what style of endmill you use, and how "clean" the final product ends up?
    Thanks in advance
    Paul

    Hi Paul
We use a burr type ball end mill with good results.
See attached...Central CNC supplied ours from the UK

I use a standard 4 flute 3/8" ball nose endmill for both surface and perimeter cut. Personally, I don't like EVA.

    3/8" ballnosed endmill http://www.kromhard.com/ 175-4375 $45.60 each.

The routers section of my website has a spreadsheet that covers suggested cutting tools.

  4. Hi Paul,
We use burr similar to CraigT for eva with good results (pic attached) and change according to our maintenance schedule. Happy to send an old one down from Brisbane (still sharp"ish"- we just change according to schedule). You can use this to test out yourself as you work it out. Send me a pm with details. Regards, Dieter
