    An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated Allied Health Assistant (AHA) with a strong interest in and commitment to providing patient centred, clinical and administrative support to join the Podiatry and High Risk Foot Service team at Royal North Shore Hospital on a casual basis. Training for tasks, and supervision/support will be provided.

    Where you'll be working
    Royal North Shore Hospital is a principal tertiary referral centre as well as a Trauma Centre with over 600 beds. The Podiatry and High Risk Foot Service at Royal North Shore Hospital provides care for patients across acute, sub-acute and outpatient setting. The department also provides state wide services to the Severe Burns Unit and Spinal Cord Injury Unit. The team is involved in the advanced assessment and management of lower limb pathology for patients, families and carers. You’ll work with a team of highly skilled and dedicated Podiatrists who co-ordinate and deliver treatment regimens for each patient to ensure the best possible care and support.

    What you'll be doing
    To provide assistance and support in the delivery of efficient and high quality Podiatric care to consumers, carers and families to ensure the provision of optimal health outcomes consistent with NSLHD policies, procedures, standards, relevant legislation and the NSW Health Code of Conduct.
    All NSW Health workers are required to have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine by 30 September 2021 and two doses by 30 November 2021 or have an approved medical contraindication certificate. You will be required to provide a record of your COVID-19 vaccination status if successful.
    Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
    1. Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
    2. Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or other qualification deemed equivalent by NSLHD
    3. Demonstrated interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
    4. Demonstrated computer literacy skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office and email applications.
    5. Identify skills and knowledge in the provision of assistant's activities to provide support for, AHPs, clients, families and carers as required.
    6. Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage workload demands and complete activities (including ability to work within scope of practice and seek assistance when required) as delegated by supervising AHP.
    7. Ability to work independently under the delegation of an AHP and the ability to collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team.
