    Hi all,

I am hoping to move to Australia within the next year, specifically Brisbane QLD.

I have a BSc(hons)Podiatry and have been practicing for 6 years within NHS in Scotland. I also have a postgraduate certificate in podopaediatrics.

I was wondering if anyone has any tips for good vacancy websites I can check, and more importantly what is the most appropriate visa to apply for? I have been on the immigration site but there are so many different types of visas, I'm confused!

I have been in touch with the QLD podiatry board and I am aware I need to be accredited with the board.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Cheers,
    Louise Wilson

    Hi there
I am a Brissy based pod. Let me know when you arrive and I will see if I have heard anything. I am looking for a part-time pod soon but I am north-side based and this may not suit you anyway especially if you need full-time work.
Usually the jobs are word of mouth in my experience.
    Good luck with the move

    Hi Louise

Although I am not moving to Australia yet ( I need to finish the degree first), I have been researching for a year now.
For what I 've learnt from forums and fellow pods in Australia, the best visa is if you are not sponsored: independent migrant subclass 175
Temporary visas (485) are not very popular amongst english people, according to opinion expressed in forums (www.expatforum.com)
For what I've gathered, it would be better to employ a visa agent as they will help with the application. They are expensive though (£2000 +)

I hope this helps you. Good luck

    Rosa
