I am having problems with my podospray hand piece on my pododent jet spray. It's just out of guarantee and the hand piece is sticking again and black "sludge" dripped out this morning. I had it mended within the guarantee time 2 months ago and wonder if any one else has had similar problems?

    Hi Jane
I have the Podospray S44 and am very happy with it.

I assume all Podospray drills have a similar handpiece?

The only problem I have had with mine over the years is the compressor pump that pumps the fluid breaks but when it is starting to go the black sludge thing is immediatly evident when the handpiece is first used.

Canonburys repair mine very quickly by return if thats a help but, if your supplier repaired it for the same thing only 2 months ago then they never repaired it properly !!

My advice would be to get back onto them and explain what has happened and what you want done about it ( forcefully if need be) and I think they will be duty bound to do a "proper repair" within the terms of the guarantee.
    Hope that helps
    cheers
    Derek;)

Thanks, it is canaonburys that have supplied and repaired for me! I think mine is a slightly different problem, i get the sludge after the drill has been running for a while. I will definately be getting back to them, but am hoping to collect a bit more info :)

The drill is obviously not right Jane make your point to them straight away !!

Have you had a word with your Canonbury rep about it ??

They are usually pretty knowledgeable and helpful??

If not give Hanns Bakker ( the boss) a call and express your displeasure at the service you have had not forgetting to mention there is a thread running on the subject on here !! ;)

I'm sure he wont want ANY bad publicity and he is usualy very helpful and understanding I have found

If you leave it too long you may get a hardened attitude to your plight.

    Good Luck
    Cheers
    Derek ;)

Several years ago when a colleague was setting up in practise, , they enquired about a drill. Hans said to them, "we don't do that one anymore, we had too many bad comments from customers and I can't be having with any of that." In my experience, if there is a problem, Hans will want to know about it.

    Try Mr. Rizzo, 23a Thomas Road, Sittingbourne ME10 3AW 01795 436153.

A collaegue of mine used them for their drill. My colleague does not know what they will be like for a water spray drill, but he shoudl be honest if he can help you or not!

Much better customer service than Canonbury and cheaper!

Canonbury has got excellent customer service wrt consuambles and other stuff, but I have heard bad reports about their repairs dept up north.

I think a third hand "I have heard" comment is not really useful to anyone.
My direct experience of Canonbury Service Dept "up north", over 12 years, is one of consummate professionalism linked to vast experience and I have had only excellent service from them.
