Hi I am a second year pod student and considering a project to look at the effects of improving gait efficiency and its effect of lowering blood pressure. (As soleus and Gastrocnemius improves) possibly studying willing patients with unfixed claw toes ?

Your idea is good, but may be a bit ambitious for an undergrad project.

Do a thorough lit search around it and see if you can refine your idea into something more workable. I would start with Google Scholar and Medline.

 

As with any research, you have to define the variables. How are you going to measure gait efficiency? Then, how are you going to isolate the effects of gait efficiency from other effects on blood pressure.

How about comparing the reliability of casting techniques eg POP versus Foam box? Cheap and quick to undertake and you can use certain variables to compare the differences ie length,FFT width, even RFT:FFT frontal plane angle.

A bit like my undergrad project this is, except I compared 2 POP techniques, suspension verses direct pressure and got an experienced Clinician to take the casts.

As the others have intimated this is probably a little beyond the scope of a BSc project (time wise if nothing else). Make things as simple as possible, and have just one clear and defined research question you are aiming to try and answer.
