I had a pt in the other day with a small burn from Pyuvuric Acid/Flouracil mixture to treat a Plantar Wart. How was about 3 mm in diameter not closing but not infected. Patient not a Diabetic good blood flow. Overall health very good. patient has lesion on metarsal pad on foot. I performed debridement and removal. Prescribed Silvadene cream.

Small hole was about 3mm deep 3mm wide. Hole had been there for about 10 days. had kind of a greyish appearance. How long before we should see some improvement if 3rd degree burn or deep second. When trimming blood present. Should pt have healing started in 10-15 days? (partial healing)??

If no healing -- what are next steps?? Over to wound clinic or reconstruct surgeon; Shoud I monitor then review again at 6 week point?

    Thanks student - Timbogates

    timbogates,
I have never heard of pyuvuric acid. Is it a proprietary substance not available in UK?

If you said what country you are in it might help, as would a photo.

    regards
