    Hi All

First time posting on Podiatry Arena so please be kind.

I am a Orthomodel user in Australia and I am looking for more base model orthotic templates other than the ones that come with the software. I have been trying to get some from the Delcam office in Melbourne but haven't had any joy so far.

If anyone can help me out it would be much appreciated.

    Cheers, Scott

    Hi Scott
I am aware that at least 1 Delcam customer and partner has now sent you some of their templates free of charge; so this is good news. Our offices in Australia are a bit confused as they offered to help you to expand your database of customised base models, either by creating new ones for you or by giving you the tools and training to enable you to create base models yourself.
Our apologies if this was not clear.
Delcam Australia pride themselves is providing all their Lab and Podiatry customers with a good support & services. Please let me know if you need any further help.

    Hi Delcam

Just to keep you in the loop I have been in contact with the Delcam office in Melbourne Australia a number of times over the last 18 months that I have owned the orthomodel & orthomill software and they have helped me out where they can.

I have asked on a few occasions how to do a Blake inversion device and how to create a template with a cuboid notch and a wedge through the heel and there have been other requests but at the time they were still learning themselves.

I have had 1 day of training that ran through the process of making an orthotic but when I inquired about a more detailed training program it was suggested that I could get training from mile high orthotics in the US which came at a cost of $1000 a day + travel expenses.

Things may be different now that they are Delcam Australia and not Camplex(who I brought the software off), I understand that the sales people in Australia have to try and be experts in all of the Delcam products which is impossible. The Australian office could probably do with a person who is there just to deal with technical issues and not be side tracked by having to sell the product.

I have been given a price for having templates made up for me just recently and to be honest I thought the price was a bit excessive especially considering I have purchased orthomodel, orthomill and 2 iqube scanners over the past 2 years.

From a users point of view it would be great if you were able to access a much larger library of templates or at least view a larger library and purchase what you need.

All things aside I do love the software and would be grateful for any training especially in the area of modifying the XML files and templates.

Feel free to email me personally to discuss any of the topics I have mentioned above.

    Cheers,
    Scott
