    Hi!

I am graduating from University of Salford this summer and was hoping to look for employment in the private sector. Is it usual for most private position vacancies to be advertised through websites or is it acceptable for me to write to Podiatry practices and enquire?

    Good idea,

also try and visit the practices and that way you can look at the environment and facilities at the practice. Also meet your potential future policies.

Go to a SCP branch meeting to get your face and name known by local practitioners who may wish to employ you.

Meet and Greet is the way to go.:drinks

    Good luck

    Hi Vanessa,

I think its a very good idea to contact Podiatrists to enquire, I got my first job by doing just that. Whereabouts are you looking to work? I will have a vacancy coming up soon at my clinic in east lancs, only for 1 or 2 days a week though. Let me know if you would be interested. Emma

    Hi Vanessa,

I wrote to all the pods in the area asking them if they had any work available or if they would mind me going to have a look at how they ran their clinic and maybe shadow them for a session etc. I got quite a few responses. A few let me shadow, one offered to sell his clinic to me and another gave me his dom list to do.

    Good luck

    Sam
