    Hi,

Had a patient in who had a plantar heel verrucae a few years ago (advised me during history taking). The podiatrist treating him used silver nitrate and duofilm in combination . Treatment was successful. I haven't ever heard of this combinaion - has any one used this before and what is the treatment regime?
    Thanks
    Susan

I can't see why you can't combine any regimes. If the mechanism of actions are different, then why not?

I have a friend who gets the patient to use duofilm and then zaps it with liquid nitro every week - claims that the duofilm not only destroys verrua tissue, but also macerates the verruca, so the the liquid nitro is much more destructive due to there being more moisture to freeze. Like everyone else with there pet technique, they make remarkable claims and have no research to back it up!

Hi Susan I am often very wary of what Patients tell me the last pod did. Even in a clinic with more than 1 pod the clients will often tell you that the last pod did or said......... and when looking at the notes......our story is quite different. So perhaps they did or didn't and in what shape or form which was used first? Without contacting and reading the notes you may find the pod tells you a totally different story.

BUT maybe this is just a load of jargon:confused:

    Worth a thought or not?

    Cheers:D
