I'm a podiatry student and am curious to learn more about which podiatric treatments may harm pregnant mothers / unborn foetus' / breastfed children. Will you help me collect some information regarding this subject?

    Hi Jay,

You may be better to break down your list into more manageable sections. eg.
    Prescription medications used in Podiatry.
    Oral/Topical applications.
    Homeopathic medicines.

American Podiatrists (DPM) have access to a greater array of prescription medications which you may or may not wish to consider in your study.

Oral anti fungal medications eg. Terbinafine: http://drugsafetysite.com/terbinafine

Local anaesthetic agents. eg. mepivacaine: http://www.lakemedelsverket.se/uplo...nest 3 % Plain solution for injection ENG.pdf

I found a web site while searching which may provide a little assistance to your search. http://www.safefetus.com/Search.asp

    Good luck.

66% Salycilic acid 100% monochloroacetic acid = very potent chemical applied to the skin for 5 days.
Chemicals create a macreated area of up to 50mm diameter and 10mm deep.

The lymphatic system becomes involved this transferral of particulate matter into lymph vessels (inflammatory respones the battle between the virus and the chemicals). Viral particles and chemical could be crossed from mother to fetus.

(Way out on a limb now - with the reaction of chemicals and lymphatic system it may cause a chain reaction and cause a misscarrage) so why take the risk.

In a nursing mother again the lymphaitc system may change the mothers milk.

That is why I wait until mother has had her baby and finished with breast feeding.

I have wart specimens that are still viable 5 years after removing them from the plantar surface of feet.
