How did you spend your Christmas/New Year break? In front of the telly with the Royals or on the beach with some chilled Cloudy Bay? Been nice and cold in Blighty in recent weeks and plenty of ice about...especially in point five!

Wow, that puts my rumaging through 6 smelly bin bags looking for my lost new banana bar, before the dustmen collect it, into perspective....thought it was quite challenging at the time.

    Cheers,
    Bel

  3. Dangerous activity rooting through bin-bags, Bel. Never know what's going to bite your fingers... Some more snaps of lazy crazy days.... Ben Nevis NE Buttress, Centurion and Inquisition.

Proof that our new years activities were every bit as dangerous as Marks:

Photo 1: Breathing life into a Yorkshire man. Extreme caution is required as you can see the resistance being offered by the recipient!

Photo 2: Preparing to remove oneself from central heating & brave long walk t'club. Note goodbye embrace in case we never meet again or become separated in the throng of partygoers. Note from author: (Gentlemans headgear is non-optional in Yorkshire). Indeed I cannot recollect when I last saw Himself without it. ;)

A face and a figure to fulfil the fantasy at last. Lucky bugger the wee man. Can't remember the last time a kiss induced such a neuromuscular reaction - what was your left hand doing?. Did Santa bring him a pair of Rothbart's insoles?

    Yours salivatingly

Ah thank you Mark. I too think he's quite lovely. ;)
As for my left hand. I cannot disclose as this isn't that kinda forum!
As for the 'insoles' I will not allow them in the house! I understand they can cause pregnancy!!! :deadhorse:

  11. Been smoking a pipe for ages- check out my facebook pictures. Of note, I used to spend my Christmas holidays in the mountains too- amazing what a difference a small child makes to your winter break.

    Hi Wendy

What kind of archery do you do?

I get chance to do Field archery now and again but recently they've taken shooting every Sunday so maybe more opportunity coming along.

I think it is field archery, will eventually progress to either re-curve or long-bow (if I can find one short enough;)). I am very much a novice at the moment though so borrow one of the clubs training bows.

    Hi Wendy

I am based in Sussex and occasionally shoot with a group at some local woods using a Sagittarius (hand made bow by a Bowyer named Rex Oakes) American Flatbow. Good fun! Surprising the number of families that get involved.

Never know we might meet up one day. Where about in Hants are you?

    Prosperous wishes to all.

Was I not surrounded with grandchildren and knee high in chrissy paper. Temperatures in the high thirties, I hung out at the beach (as you do). Daughter and grandson #4 on the dog beach. Yes, we have so much room in WA they allocate beaches for dogs and for horses. Out in the deep blue yonder are sharks (man eating).

    Fancy a dip?

    Bliss down under.

  18. My lovely wife, Pam, my youngest son, Cameron (20 y/o), and I spent three days snowmobiling in the Rocky Mountain region of Colorado between Christmas and New Years. Elevations ranged from 8,300 to 11,400' elevation. The photos from the summit are at the crest of the Continental Divide on the Rocky Mountain Range. The lake is Grand Lake, in the town we stayed in. That's my son doing a little jump. Great fun, excellent snow, and no one got hurt....can't say that for all of the snowmobiles.

I am sure you knew, "Sagittarius" was originally in Greek mythology Chiron a sentaur know for heeling the lame and is patron of surgical shoemakers. Chiron was made lame himself by Hercules and was so annoyed he relinquished his immortality but was granted heavenly status by becoming, Sagittarius.

You should be able to shoot straight with that bow.
