    Hi,

I have just joined this forum to keep me more in touch with what is going on in podiatry beyond the Western Isles of Scotland, about 30miles from the Scottish mainland. The island is beautiful but somewhat more remote than I am used to having come from sunny Salford.

I graduated from Glasgow and later did a BSc (Hons) in Podiatric Medicine through New College Durham/University of Sunderland. In between those two qualifications I took a BSc (Hons) in Health Studies from Queen Margaret University College.

Presently I am involved in setting up a branch of Dyslexia Scotland for the Western Isles as a registered charity. I hope to help raise awareness of dyslexia and generate more support for dyslexic learners of all ages.

    Thanks for reading my message.

Welcome Marion, thanks for a great introduction, congrats and good luck with your charity mission.
We certainly need charity in our ravaged state at the moment.
Look forward to seeing you on site further,

    Cheers

Thanks for the warm welcome to the Forum.

So sorry for the disaster in Victoria just now. We get a limited Australian news coverage in UK but know from Aussie friends how fire can reap havoc. We had 6 weeks of sunshine here last summer and folks went out cutting peat for winter fuel. There were two or three moor fires. Someone told me the sunshine was so strong it started a fire in a bedroom just from a reflection on a mirror.

I had the privilege of 5 weeks in Oz some years ago and loved it apart from the large spiders. Mostly was in NSW and trip to Albury and the Great Murray river, etc was only visit to Victoria. Visited Armidale, Fostertuncurry, Newcastle, WaggaW, Sydney, Canberra, Tumberumba, etc. Happy memories!:drinks
