    Hi,

I was asked by a friend of mine, a shoe manufacturer in Fiji who makes steel capped work boots.
His question pertains to any information/research material or anything that proves wearing safety boots with steel mid plates is bad for the knees long-term. The boots are being worn for +12 hours/day. Some boots are being made with specially inserted mid steel plates that covers all the surface area to prevent nail penetration.
These mid plates are only required in rough work environments - construction sites that have sharp objects, steel debris lying about which could penetrate the foot.

    Thanks

    Sharmila

I am pretty sure that there has been no research on this.
