Benno Nigg started out the morning lecturing on "Barefoot Running" and "Orthotics: What Do We Know-Where Do We Go?". I've never heard Benno be so forcefully against the claims of the barefoot running advocates. In addition, he said he has new research ready to be submitted for publication that shows that wearing foot orthoses may make the foot stronger.

I followed up in the afternoon with lectures on "Minimalist and Maximalist Running Shoes: Trends and Research Evidence" and "Rearfoot, Midfoot and Forefoot Striking Patterns in Running". Lots of good questions and interest with these and the other speaker's lectures.

Tomorrow is a full day at Disneyland with my lovely wife and our four year-old granddaughter. Should be fun!
