Anybody out there being TUPEd into a new Social Enterprise Trust from an NHS trust? (PCT -> SET)
    How you feeling about it?
Anyone out there already in an SET which was a PCT?
    How's it going?

Not happy, but resigned to my fate here
    Words of comfort welcome
    Or fighting talk!

    Dear Hannah
Most of the SW are moving to SE, although we have a guarantee of a contract here with the GP consortium it does not mean any business will be put our way. I like you work in acute diabetes care and fear that we will be too expensive to be used. I am also concerned that to date national govt has not agreed that our pension can transfer with us, last week we were told that if this is not in place the TUPE will not happen as planned on 01/10/11.
I can see it as a chance to sell what as a profession we do but the AWP or AQP or ACP is a bit vague for my liking.

    Dear Hannah,

my PCT recently moved into SE status.
We have been told that we have a legally binding 5 year contract to provide services for the local area. It is my understanding that this will mean work will be put our way for the next 5 years but we have to be showing that the service we provide is cost effective and providing benefit. I don't know what will happen after the 5 years, but I am fearful for biomechanics. I think diabetes will be safe due to the workload and the gradual realisation of how important a diabetes podiatrist is.

Everything we have done (services provided) and are doing remains the same although all of the team remain in the dark about what the future holds.
    cheers

    Mike

dear hannah and all just heard from deepthroat that a certain area in the northwest is about to be tuped the nhs will reband all operatives before the tupe so they all earn less money so if you are having to apply for your own jobs, and sing youl never walk alone it would seem things will only get worse

hannah they are dreaming whatever protection u get 1 year 5 years the minute it is over you will all get new contracts the world is changing not for the better for people who collect thier check once per month and have sick leave when it suits.im glad i dont work for an nhs trust as this would give me sleepless nights. i left podiatry aged 26 for 4 years as the profession and me seemed to be heading nowhere i feel for you and hope u come out unscathed.
