I have a patient in her fifties born will mild talipes - not surgically corrected. She has not worn shoes for many many years due to the fact she cant find any where the arch is in the right place or they aren't deep enough around the mid tarsal.
She came to see me with neuroma type symptoms which she has had for many years.
The report from US is shown in the attachment
She cannot afford an MRI or orthotic intervention. She can afford Met Domes etc. No private health insurance
Ultrasound show bilateral lesions to both 2/3 and 3/4 ..largest lesion 17 x 11 x 7mm... others aren't much smaller. Also a plantar plate tear.

So i think her options are
    1. Met/domes pmb to existing footwear
    2. Steroid inejction??
    3. Public Referral to orthopod

I suspect 1 and 3 are her best options maybe with a view to surgery to remove and correct deformity so the poor lady can wear shoes.

I would be interest to hear opinions in case i am missing something vital that may help her.

    Thanks

    Use the met dome.
Find a way to get her seen by a Pedorthist for footwear - I know you said $ an issue, but its worth a try.
