    Hi Claudina,

You may find some interesting articles in the following:

    http://www.nursinginpractice.com/default.asp

It is free to subscribe to internet access to information. Some of which you may find useful.

The following I found of particular use although it doesn't indicate an actual measurement of slough it does highlight the importance of appropriate evaluation & descriptive terms acceptable in describing a wound.

I hope it may be of use.

There are computer wound imaging systems around based on digital photography that can measure various aspects of wounds (such as slough) based on tracings you do on the wound photo on the computer screen. These can be measured.

would for example measuring the slough using a grid, and measuring the area be appropriate in your opinion, as i am looking for cheap ideas to use for my dissertation.

    Hi Claudina,

I believe this approach is used widely in many wound care clinics.
