I guess they have not heard of the placebo effect or the natural history. Next.

As I tell my patients.....there is no wrong treatment of warts ( unless they suggest something really stupid).
As the VP is a virus, the body's immune system is what actually kills the VP.
I have even bought a wart off of a kid. I told him I would give him $10 if his wart was gone in a month. It was gone, I gave him $10 and I charged his parents $10 for the consultation :)
I allow my patients to choose their desired treatment. Acid paints, herbal oils, needle penetration or duct tape etc. But always with a time limit. If there is no change in 2, 4 or 6 weeks then change the treatment tactic.

Wishing away or buying warts can be seen as harmless fun when it`s a child - and i would certainly rather that than using painful tissue destructive treatments - because spontaneous regression is high in childhood. But, there are plenty of treatments for warts that health professionals should not endorse, as we have evidence that they do not work. eg; homeopathic remedies and duct tape (which is designed for industrial use, not skin, as the adhesive is documented as a sensitiser for ACD).
