Hi as per requirement of registration with AHPRA we have to do a mandatory update every 3 years for first aid with anaphylaxis. Does anyone know where you can do it? I have phoned the society they no longer run it and recommended Emergency first aid. I rang them and they do not offer a combined course. Any recommendations please?

    Thanks in advance.

There are specific course codes on the Podiatry Board's guidelines for CPD (from their website)- just google them to find a provider that provides the recommended courses, there are heaps around in major cities. Hope this helps!

Hi thanks for your reply. I tried to ring Vic Podiatry but they no longer run course and Emeregncy first aid do not do the anaphylaxis which is required. If you could recommend an organisation would be great! Thanks

Check with a local surf club if you live close to the coast. You need to have those codes every year so the best way is to do Applied First Aid refresher course each year. Should take you only half a day. Usually $65 if a member of a surf club or $125 if a non-member. It will cover all your codes you need (CPR, anaphylaxis etc)

I have obtained my certificates from the same company since 2011, so now onto my third set of certificates from them.

I would recommend Re:viva.com.au. The company is based in Sydney, but they travel across state including regional NSW, QLD, SA, VIC and TAS. The manager Ori De'Fina has a long history of training and he tailors the course to your level of knowledge, so he always covers the basics to meet the requirements, but if you engage with him he will go into the N'th degree as necessary.

His rates are reasonable, and get cheaper the more people who train on the day. I know he has other people who work for him, but I have only ever had him as a trainer.

    Good hunting.

Are you saying the Podiatry Association (Vic) doesnt run AHPRA approved First aid courses with epipen administration/certification?

I have used the First Aid Training Centre for the last 3 years. They run daily courses covering all of the PodBA requirements, with the option of just completing the CPR component (2hrs) for the 2 years between the Senior First Aid certificate, and included a practical with a training epipen.

There are many, many others as well,

Don't we need the codes annually, not just CPR?

You need current First Aid and CPR Certificates,

First Aid is valid for three years, and CPR one Year

Thanks for clarifying that. Looks like I have been doing overkill each year.

The association isn't a registered training body so they can't run them, they used to contract in but they were under utilised. There was an email to all members in Feb this year that recommended: www.emergency.com.au and if you are a member, you will have a code that gives you a discount with them.
