    Hi all,
I have a 58yr old woman with a neuroma on her sural nerve superficial to the peroneus longus in her left leg.

The pain began after a fall two years ago and has not been sufficiently relieved.

She has tried orthoses from an orthotist which were placed in old footwear with degrading heel counters which resulted in trochantic bursitis of her right hip.

New othopedic footwear - Gadean and another pair from Lana Lang in Adelaide. Both have increased the pain. Pain is felt whilst wearing Asics sneakers.

I am currently treating with mobilisation and gentle stretching of peroneals and dry needling.
This helps for a few days but the pain returns. I'm currently seeing her every two weeks.
Have just seen the orthopaedic surgeon who says go back to the pod to fix the footwear!!!
Does anyone have any other suggestions for us?

    Intralesional steroid injection. Surgical excision.

Nothing to do with shoes, orthotics etc will fix it.
