How Unprofessional Is This?

I wanted to drop off a business card for referrals to a chiropodist in a village near where I am based.

I knocked on the door, and walked into what I thought was the reception room. Only there was a patient in the patient chair, right next to the door. I apologised and said that I thought that it was a waiting room! The practitioner was OK about it.

I felt guilty, but thought that it should have a waiting room, and that there should be some sign on the outside to say that the room was a treatment room, and not a waiting room.

Also the treatment room had a window with semi-open blinds, visible to anyone walking on the pavement outside.

    How unprofessional is this?

Pretty unprofessional- you really should have waited for an answer to the knock ;)

I'm presume you hope said Chiropodist doesn't read this or you may not get many referrals.

That sounds like a strange arrangement for a surgery? Was there no screen to separate the patient from the doorway?

And what did it say on the door? Did it say "knock and wait" ?

    Most perculiar

Was this person a member of The Society? It so goes against standards & makes me a bit peed off when one spends a lifetime trying to maintain standards under all sorts of pressures.
Sorry if I sound a bit 'disgusted of Tunbridge Wells. Still doesn't beat the local ole timer who had his pet dog in his operating room. No it wasn't a foot care assistant. :)
