I am a mature 2nd year student and have panic attacks re clinic assessment at end of year.

when I am on my own or with friends answer question feels ok, I do not know if this cause we make it too easy or just not asking right questions. I manage paper exams well, I think this cause you have time to work out answer and can choose the order you answer questions. Any way I am looking for some one to help me understand more what is required from us, how to shine. I am not looking for some one just to give me the answers and I learn them parrot fashion.

So if you have time for a poor wee student, or have some good advise please help :wacko:

 

aaah i think i know where you are coming from. It sounds to me as if you have very high expectations of yourself and are lacking a little confidence. Why not practice with some one else on your course. I know role play is a bit cheesy but honestly, saying stuff out loud in a relaxed environment will help you when the time comes. I am not sure this entirely answers your question, perhaps some of the lectures on here could answer with what they are looking forward. Anyway, good luck with your exams.

 

Thank you. I so agree with everything you say. But finding someone to study with who will challenge you is hard, and I live a distance from uni. :bash:

 

I agree, get someone else to be your study buddy - that's what helped me through our assessments..but maybe speak to your lecturers too- they will be able to help!

say it outloud to your cat or your mum, whatever , the point is to gain confidence in giving information

 

oh and get a structure of what you're saying. For me it was pt complains of, on examination then medication taken and what it does. then physical aspects like pulses etc..

:empathy:yes I think I do need more stucture, been taping myself today and things like pathology of callous, I understand but on repeat it sounds wishy washy, so going back to basics and writing out statements and taping them. practice practice. thank you for responding.
