also, given that Vibram are suing Fila over the pockets for the toes, how close are Adidas to breaching that patent?

  7. I might be a bit of a tight ass and stopped worry about peer pressure when I was 10 but why couldn´t you do those exercises barefoot ?

Saves money for important things like beer ?

Because nothing screams "barefoot running and its benefits" like training on a flat polished concrete floor.

I'm surprised there's any room left onboard the bandwagon...

  10. I should be interested to hear about this shoe from the horses mouth. What are Adidas saying about this shoe? What activities are they saying that it is designed for?

Can't find anything direct from Adidas. I wonder why they didn't package them up as a new brand with a funky name? 'Adipure' is one of their football boot ranges and has been around for about 3 years.

    Lazy...

  12. Unless it's aimed at the football market...

Does anyone remember the Nike ninja slipper with the separate pocket for the big toe? I guess it's all just a matter of timing.

P.S. you will know when the bandwagon is full when you see these Adidas shoes in TK Max.

Remember them well - the 'Nike Rift'. Still have a pair in fact.

Good call. When the barefoot bubble bursts check out TK maxx. Stock up on mad shoes for future footwear talks on passing trends....

While we are on the subject, seems that Vibram's law department might be getting a little busier. Once they have finished with the Fila Skele-toes I wonder if are they going to go after Inov-8?

  17. I wonder about the durability of these puppies. Tell you what though, I'm seriously going to break out the alginate and start offering latex dips.... I'll call it the Plymsoletm

Scratch that I've just come up with a plaster of paris technique, alginate is a pain in the arse.

As one astute reviewer commented; "I’m holding out until they want to sell me a $50 can of spray paint for some “barefoot running"

  19. I'm already on to it: http://www.liquidflesh.com/

In all seriousness, I have just come up with a cunning design for a shoe. But to be honest, I've had it with non disclosure agreements and companies that take the piss, so this one will probably just go to the grave with me.

    Simon,

If alginate is such a pain in the arse why not call them R-SOLE ?!!;)

    Neil.

  21. I was thinking re what will this shoe be marketed as....

I think a barefoot shoe that strengthens the foot rather than a barefoot running shoe.

In fact I think barefoot running may not be mentioned, as we have seen VFF are being sold in some shops with a note that this shoe is warn with the buyers knowledge that if there are problem not our fault type stuff.

So if Adidas don´t mention barefoot running no liability if people run barefoot in them.

Still seem odd writing barefoot shoe.

PS when is the barefoot Bartold coming out from ASICS ?

Is not "barefoot shoe" an oxymoron? You are either barefoot or shod. There is no in between.
