For those at BSS this year will remember Simon Spooner speaking about the google project tango phone, which has a 3d camera which could be used to capture casts and foam box impression.

Just had a quick search and come across the Amazon Fire, which has a 3D camera, so my question could the Fire do the same job as the tango (providing the software can be developed)

If you have an iPad you can add a Structure 3D Scanner



Or you can buy a 3D Systems Sense Scanner



Or you can hack an Asus Xtion Pro Live
