SAGE Publishing and the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society today announce the launch of Foot & Ankle Orthopaedics (FAO), an open access journal dedicated to the care and treatment of patients with orthopaedic foot and ankle conditions. FAO is the society?s second publication, joining its flagship journal Foot & Ankle International (FAI).
I am honored to serve as the inaugural editor for this new journal, which will offer a wide variety of article types and original research, commented Editor-in-Chief L. Daniel Latt, MD, PhD. Our goal is to create a high-quality journal that contains a broad range of scholarly articles, and it should be of particular interest for young scientists and international investigators.
FAO emphasizes foot and ankle trauma, sports-related conditions, reconstructive techniques, and how new technology can address these issues. This journal is designed to be a resource for orthopaedic surgeons, fellows, residents, and allied health providers.
Research published in FAO will drive innovation in healthcare through its focus on the latest technological advances in foot and ankle care, commented Bob Howard, Vice President of Journals, SAGE Publishing. We?re pleased to expand our work with the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society to offer this new publishing option for researchers and look forward to supporting the journal as it grows into a leading open access publication.
We are confident that Dr. Latt's research experience and vision for scientific advancement in orthopaedic foot and ankle surgery will contribute critical leadership as the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society launches this new publication, commented James Brodsky, MD, chair of the FAI-FAO Managerial Board.
FAO publishes peer-reviewed original and clinical research articles, meta-analyses, systematic and topical reviews, case reviews, hot topics, research designs, and technique tips.
