have a new pt who is due to do "iron man" in 3 weeks (Swimming, cycling and marathon).

she has planter fascitis following a competition 5 weeks ago and really needs orthotics but we dont have the time( and she doesnt have the money!)

one of my suggestions was to take ibuprofin t.d.s. however whilst she's never known drug tests to be taken for her sport I wondered if she did have a pre or post sport drug test whould the anti inflammatory show up and is it on the "banned" list.

more for my info than any thing else

  2. Pauline best to get in contact with the Olympic association in your country these things change often. If you explain why your asking I´m sure there will be a website for you to look at with the lastest info. Dont use old info..

thank you both for your replys.

it appears it is not on the banned list.

however interesting that up to a 1/3rd of athletes take them prophylactivly. and there could be long term problems with them doing so.

shall put the articles in my C.P.D. list!!!
