Hi all, i was just wondering if anyone had any tips on personal statements or could read my personal statement...

i think i'm really late in applying but i feel i want to get it just right :eek:

Most people here will have no idea what you are talking about!

I take this to mean, the personal statement that you need to submoit with your application to one of the USA podiatry schools?

 

Yea the personal statement to submit with my application but to a University in London
I just have some doubts about it so i thought someone would be able to give me some tips or anything along those lines.

Things that I think will help
1. good understand of what podiatrists do and how they do it
2. Know the scope of practice in your area/country:butcher:
3. explain why you want to be a podiatrist (areas of interest) and how it came to be

It always helps if you have done some sort of work experience or volunteer work in a practice - shows that you are very keen;)

I presume your applying to UEL,

All the points spur mentioned are correct.

make sure you mention activities other than those related to Podiatry, especially ones related to teamwork. Multidisciplinary teams are the "in " thing at the moment and demonstrating good teamwork abilities will be an advantage.

You won't be expected to know everything about Podiatry, but a basic knowledge of the profession and current guidelines e.g NICE in relation to Podiatry would be an advantage.
