I first lectured on this very same idea that medial tibial stress syndrome and medial tibial stress fracture are more likely due to bending of the tibia rather than traction of soft tissue structures on the tibia ten years ago at the 2005 Australian Conference of Science and Medicine in Sport in Melbourne, Australia in October 2005.
