Interesting Motion 26 from Lanarkshire branch for the Delegate Assembly in this months Pod Now:

"Believes that it has become apparent that the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) has not ensured that Society members have protection of titles and that this organisation has misled the profession and the public since its inception; Asks that the Society addresses this issue of being disingenuous with the truth on protection of the titles "Chiropodist" and "Podiatrist" with the HCPC; Further asks that the Society seeks legal advice against both the HCPC and the lawyers who represented the Society during initial consultation with the HCPC for the misinterpretation of our protection of title".

Absolutely. The HCPC still (falsely) claim that the titles are protected. This is a direct contradiction to the clarification by a High Court Judge on the Health Professions Order legislation. Her written verdict stated, in part; “It should be noted at this point that the correct terminology is “designated title” rather than “protected title” "(quotation marks hers, not mine). This outed deception has gone on long enough.
