Hi Guys

The TECs at my hospital have sent a "new" drill back due to not complying with Aust/Nz earthing standards.

This may stir up some,but according to the techo, if the drilling may cause skin penetration the device must be even more safe (BF Device standard). I pose the question.


Do any of our drills meet these standards??? Especially the older ones?

I just looked at my own drill and it has a picture of a stick man next to a square inside a square, that means its double earthed, I am currently trying to get an answer for Lenson Metal Products (the makers of the Lenson Drills ) regarding there Aust / NZ Standards For Earthing. Anyone out there got a Lenson in Australia or NewZealand?? Anyone.......

Ill reply to myself.......again...... finally Hospital management has sent the "Uncertifiable" drill back to the supplier (after more than a year of stuffing around) who are now arguing that it has been away too long and not refundable? ......:bang:. Anyway not my bad. Look just make sure your drills (any any other electrical medical equipment is registerable with the authorities otherwise it could be used against you in litigation / insurance.
