Foot biomechanic analysis - high tech versus old fashioned

Some introduction first, but you can skip it immediately if you want to get directly to the point. :)
---------------------------------
I live in Poland - a country which is still less developed in some areas than many so called "western countries". I can give you an example from the runner's point of view. In germany, which is our nearest western neighbour about 100 thousand people regularly participate in marathons (I will refrain from commenting if running marathons is good or bad, that's is not the issue here). In Poland - this number is somewere between 3-5 thousand.
So this is 20 - 30 times less than Germany. But - Poland is only 2,5 times smaller than Germany (number of people living in a country). So it seems obvious - that we are developing and I can see it.
The thing is that I want to help in this development. So I'm promoting running.
But to promote running - you have to promote appropriate approach toward running shoes - peaople must understand - which shoe may be good for them.
And here there may be a problem in the judgment. Foot analysis. As the market has not developed yet, we don't have many specialists experienced in foot anaysis focused on runners. We have podiatrists. But - not much experience with running.
END of Intruduction. :)
--------------------------------------------
Many of you are probabbly often analysing some runner's feets. There are plenty of places in the world (USA, UK, Australia, Germany, etc) where you can go and have your foot analysed with focus on running. This is done in some retail shops, in some special clinics sometimes. I realised - that there are many sophisticated equipment used for it very often.
There are even some companies specialising in it.
What is your opinion on it? Can you say that you can equally good analyse foot's needs without these super hi-tec equipment? Is a static foot analysis equally good to dynamic when performed by a specialist? Is it just a matter of good eye and experience ? And can I assume that my, Polish podiatrists will be able to analyse runners foots without these ? Or are these equipments made for those who have no knowledge and experience in foot analysis so these are infact "authomatic podiatrists"?
