Hello fellow forum participants. I am Maury Christie, LMT GCFT, and have a practice in Manhattan's Flatiron District in NYC.

As a massage therapist and Feldenkrais® Practitioner in the rehabilitation field for over 20 years, I have worked with many clients suffering from gait disturbances and other damaging compensatory patterns related to, causing, or caused by, injury and dysfunction in the feet.

I was attracted to the forum by an excellent discussion of the biomechanics of the foot with respect to DMICS (Dorsal Midfoot Interosseus Compression Syndrome.) I really appreciated the knowledge, detail and precision of the contributors.

While I am not a podiatrist, and have not studied podiatric medicine, I deal with biomechanics, movement, and the body, and how they are affected by injury and limitation every day. My goal is to help my clients to fuller recovery and better performance in all activities by helping them develop a greater awareness of themselves in movement, empowering them to discover their personal resources, and fostering healthier, more efficient movement patterns.

My training has taught me to look at dysfunction and injury in the context of the whole body in movement. My experience, however, has taught me that organization of the body in movement is profoundly affected by the health and resilience of our feet and how we use them.

I anticipate learning a great deal from all of you, and hope my experience and perspective on how we move, and learn to move will be of service.
