That was one of the few times over the whole Boot Camp Craig had is shirt on.

It's a squirrel....not a marmot!! Never seen a marmot that thin with that type of fur. It's not called "have you been marmotized yet?"!!!!

Those marmots can be real pests since they actually eat the wood siding of our cabin. However, the squirrels and chipmunks in our area are harmless and we feed them regularly. Marmots are generally two to three times the size of squirrels and are much fatter than squirrels, at least in the northern Sierra Nevada mountains where our family spends much of our summer vacations. Here is an example of the type of marmot we have up in the Sierra Nevadas, the yellow-bellied marmot.

 

That's one fat marmot! No wonder the squirrels would be scared!
