Hi, I am a Podiatrist in South Australia. I have just had a knee arthroscopy 3 weeks ago because of a torn medial meniscus, cartilage damage and arthritis. I have very flat and pronated feet. My medial arches weightbear when I stand with out shoes. I have worn orthoses since I was 33 (now 51) and could not manage without them, I would have expected lateral knee joint damage from significant pronation, however my medial posterior meniscus was damaged. Could this wear and tear be from internal tibial rotation from pronation in gait?
