    Hello

Was looking into doing the short foundation course in acupuncture for pods and although I am interested in it I am wondering if there is much demand for it?

The majority of my clients are dorms and i am wondering if there are members on here who find that is is worthwhile professionally and financially.?

I have wasted a lot of money over the years on products that really haven't paid for themselves and don't want to add another to the list!

    Thanks

hi I have trained with Dr Campbell on a Podiatric Acupuncture course some years ago. Not that expensive to do and the 2 weekend courses that were undertaken we excellent as it is run by a Medical Doctor who has interest in modern acupuncture not the mystical kind, so delivers hands on sessions for foot problems and foot pain, as well as discussing case studies as the home work. It is another CPD you can ad to your list and you can use it on many of your patients as the one use needles used are disposable and small! so fits in the dom bag easily.
I don't make huge amounts of money from providing acupuncture as an ad on treatment for arthritic pain etc, I change around ?10 on top of Chiropody fee ?30. I also offer a course of treatments i.e. x 4 for plantar heel pain discounted at ?100 at clinic base (15-20 mins) or ?40 for each individual session. I have had very good responses to heel pain treatments ( on average out of 15 cases last year, 10 were completely resolved steer a course of 4 sessions) And I even wrote a book ( available on Amazon! "Acupuncture for Heel Pain") which was my thesis for the MSc in Podiatry!
Hope this helps as it is another modality to use for your patients.

  3. Thank you Tracy for responding.

It does sound interesting and it's good to hear from another pod who uses it and has seen positive results. I have decided to go for it, first weekend learning at the end of this month.
I am sure I will learn from the more experienced pods there and it will be good to add another string to my bow! :D
