    Greetings.

I am looking for advice from any podiatrists who have prepared a report in support of a disability pension for a current or more frequently a recent member of the armed forces. The client wishes to establish a connection between a service related incident or onset with discharge and or post discharge pain/suffering/disability. There is often a long period of time between the initial event and the claim. Does anyone have experience in such a process? How to relate an ongoing problem to an onset 16 years ago, without a clear linear (miitary) diagnostic record.

    Many thanks

    Brendan

I have not had experience of such a claim. However, based on civilian claims, you will need all the medical records relating to the incident from the military M.O. and may have to call in witness statements from officers/NCOs/comrades.

Quite honestly, without a linear record, I think that this is a 'challenging' case.

    All the best

I think you will be hard pressed to find anyone willing to. In an Nhs setting I've been asked to do this for disability benefit claim multiple times. With each time I have flat out refused to attribute any links only stating if a patient is being seen by U.S. And the reasons for it.
